1. How many acres are in the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of section
    12?

½ * 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/32 * 640 = 20

2. If the S 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of section 24 sold
    for $325 per acre, what was the total sale price?

½ * 1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/128 * 640 = 5 ACRES * 325 = $1,624

3. Smith sold the N 1/2 of the NW 1/4 pf the NW 1/4 and the S ½ of the SE
    1/4 for $60,000. How much did he receive per acre?

  ½ * 1/4 * 1/4 * 640 = 20 ACRES AND ½ * 1/4 * 640 = 80 ACRES 80 +
 20 = 100  ACRES   60,000 / 100 =
$600 PER ACRE

4. The market value of a property is $110,000 and the assessment ratio is
     40%.  What are the taxes of the tax rate is 25 mills?

    110,000 x .40 = 40,000 ASSESSMENT * .025 = $1,100

5. The value of a property is $80,000 and is assessed at 35% of value with
     an equalization factor of 1.3 applied to the assessed value. What are
     the taxes if  the rate is $3.50 per $1,000 of assessed value?

    80,000 * .35 = 28,000 * 1.3 = 36,400 / 1,000 = 36.4 * 3.50 = 127.40

6. How many 90' X 123' lots can we get from a parcel that is 3 acres?

   90 * 123 = 11,070 SF 43,560 * 3 = 130,680 / 11,070 = 11.8

7. An office rents for $600 per month and is 12' X 18' How much is the rent
    per square foot?

    600 * 12 = 7,200 12 * 18 = 216 SF 7,200 / 216 = 33.33

8. A 2,500 square foot house is on a lot that is 1.2 acres. What percentage
    of  the lot does the house occupy?

    1.2 * 43,560 = 52,272 SF 2,500 / 52,272 = .048 OR 4.8%

9. Concrete costs $24 per cubic yard and labor costs $1 per square foot. 
    What is the cost of a patio 20' long and 10' wide?

    20 * 10 = 200 SF 200 * 1 = $200 LABOR 200 * .333 (4") =66.6 CU FT / 27 = 2.467 CU YDS 2.467 * 24 = $59.21 MATERIAL 200 + 59.21 = 259.21 TOTAL COST

10. An office is 1,200 square feet and rents for $24,000 per year. What is the
      rent per square foot of the office?

      24,000 / 1,200 = 20 Per Square Foot
